Weather, the good and the bad people

The year was 2009 and I was in a cab that was taking me from the airport to my hotel in Las Vegas. First time in Vegas. First time in United States. It was almost midnight, the sun went down hours ago. Pitch dark out of the window.
I was curious. How does it look? How does it feel to be in US?

I was there to attend the SharePoint conference. First one for me. Starting early morning - few hours after my arrival.

I talked to the cab driver. Asked him about the weather. There was something off with the weather. I looked at the weather forecast and the temperature took a dip three days before the conference and slowly got up in the days after the conference.

I was thinking. There goes my pool time. I managed to get three days vacation after the conference and I was wondering if the weather would get better.

Oh, it was great just few days ago. Said the cab driver.

What ruined the weather?

I told him about my greatest fear - bad weather. I told him about the Microsoft’s conference. His response was inexplicable.
Totally and utterly unexpected and mind boggling.

Yeah, that must be it. He turned and looked at me.

I’ve been to many conferences since then. Don’t pity me. Always looking at the weather forecast. Also, I have never forgotten the idea of us, people being able to ruin the weather.

People that are either at the conference or maybe some people that are not attending the conference but are in town to meet with the people attending the conference.

I mean, even it was possible, I just can’t explain how the weather can be ruined in advance. I mean, I was looking at the weather forecast a month in advance.

Then I was thinking, does it count for all people? Is the influence constant - permanent? Defined by the origin? Does it depend on who they are - how strong and powerful they are? What they do for a living? Their values? Do evil people with their ugly thoughts make rain and cold? Do stressed and frustrated people make heat? How many people does it take to restore the balance? How can we measure it? Does it help to pray? - for good weather, of course.

It made me think about Denmark and people from Africa and Middle East that live in Denmark. Are they making the weather more sunny and warm, while people from Greenland are making the weather colder. At the same time, Greenland is getting warmer, the ice sheet is melting. For some reason, watching the Danish TV, you get a notion that people from countries with lot of sun don’t have any problems to enter the country while people that yearn to work or study - they get rejected, even if they are from a ‘warm’ country.
Still wondering..
People traveling around the world, they then must be disturbing the temperature balance the most.

Yeah, I was just wondering. A brilliant idea for a book.
